With over 6.3 million athletes around the world, Special Olympics, founded in 1968, is the largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities. Through the targeted promotion of this sports program, mentally impaired people of all ages are given the accompanied opportunity to be active, to experience vitality and community, to be recognized for their achievements at international events and simply to have fun in sports. With tireless dedication, the Special Olympics Team stands for this and does not let the day-to-day challenges or the limitations of the pandemic stop them.
