Delta Migration

A delta migration is used as part of a migration. In the context of a digital asset management (DAM) system, delta migration is a process in which only the changed data – or the so-called delta – is transferred instead of migrating all assets again in full. Delta migration saves a huge amount of time and reduces the complexity of the migration. In particular, it allows partial migrations and the phased introduction of the new solution while the existing system can continue to run. With a delta migration, only the changed metadata can be transferred / updated if the files have not been changed.
